First Close encounter of the apostate kind

for about a year i have been sporting a beard.

usually i would do this during elk hunting season and shave it soon after.

anyhoo i'm doing my daily quality control of my product and an associate at work whom i have spoken too on occasion greets me with a " buenos dios bro".

Anyhoo I'm doing my daily quality control of my product and an associate at work whom I have spoken too on occasion greets me with a " buenos dios bro". I kindly reciprocate with "good morning". He then pops the question? Are you a JW?

While fading, I had conversation with him about being a JW so he knew that I was. I guess seeing the "forbidden beard" and possilbly the "skoal ring" prompted the question. Are you a JW?

My close encounter was here. I put it off long enough. I simply said that " I use to be". His reply was " oooh?,why?. I said, its a long story. He said, oooh, thats not good. He then promptly walked away. Edited to say: This person is a JW

It felt good to get it out. I walked away feeling good that I let him know that I was no longer a JW and thats it pretty much none of you damn business why.

yep, been drinkin' twenty years now and i've finally had enough.

i would apprecieate any words on encouragement, and if anyone has also had this problem and beat it, i'd like to hear your experience.. steve

Going to the Circuit Ass this weekend

need some suggestions on what i can do mentally, or physically if applicable, to pass the time.

i actually thought of having another kid just so i'd have an excuse to walk around and not listen to the crap but of course they dont announce the assemblies 9 mos in advance normally.

any ideas?

are British people boring?

i've just read a news article that stated that in a recent international survey, britain was voted the best country in the world, but the british people the most boring.. i do wonder what people think of us brits, they seem to have some wild idea that we all drink tea and play cricket, they seem quite unaware of the loutish behaviour that many of us are embaressed about.. what do you think?

I worked for a UK company here in Colorado. My experience with them was that they were a little arrogant. Not keen on change. Overall very nice people though.
